Job summary

The Boys and Girls Clubs of San Leandro is seeking a Program Manager to lead high‑quality after‑school programming at a school‑based site, oversee operations, staff supervision, and partnerships with schools to ensure safe, engaging, and outcome‑driven youth programming.

Reporting to the Area Director, you will develop staff, evaluate programs, manage resources, and align with ASEs/ELOP standards while advancing BGCSL’s mission to empower young people to reach their full potential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in after‑school programming, youth development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in staff supervision, coaching, and leadership.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
• Ability to pass a background check and meet state requirements for working with youth.

Responsibilities

• Lead after‑school site programs, activities, and services to prepare youth for success while ensuring safety.
• Provide leadership to staff, guiding supervision, enrichment programming, and parent engagement.
• Plan trainings and events to support staff development and best practices in programming.
• Use CRM data and site observations to evaluate programs and drive improvements.
• Supervise staff, ensure adherence to goals, and address staff or member issues with HR support.
• Oversee site budget and resources, work with schools on safety and cleanliness, assist with grants.
• Build relationships with school admins, parents, and community partners to align goals.
• Promote programs, coordinate publicity, and maintain external stakeholder communication.
