Job summary

Leidos is seeking an AFSIM Modeling and Simulation Engineer at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. You will develop and integrate system models into a large-scale AFSIM environment and work with government and contractor staff to deliver high-fidelity simulations.

The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance, a CS/CE/EE-related degree with extensive experience, and strong C++ and M&S skills. Expect rigorous collaboration, documentation, and iterative testing using CI/CD tools.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, EE or related field with 8+ years of experience OR Master’s with 6+ years; equivalent experience may be accepted.
• Proficiency in C++ and Modeling & Simulation techniques.
• Experience with CMake and Visual Studio for building and compiling AFSIM extensions and plug-ins.
• Experience with AFSIM (Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling).
• Strong English-language writing and briefing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration in a technical environment.
• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines in a mixed government-contractor setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate system models (satellites, radars, aircraft, missiles, C2) into a large AFSIM environment.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of government and contractor staff.
• Create AFSIM representations of space and ground systems for AF/DoD use.
• Apply engineering judgment to address intelligence gaps and model real-world systems.
• Use CI/CD tools to test and evaluate AFSIM models before delivery.
• Prepare documentation, analytic reports, and multimedia products to support mission objectives.
