Job summary

Manatee County Government is seeking an experienced professional to manage and oversee affordable housing development projects. You will research, evaluate, plan, and administer programs that increase housing supply and coordinate with developers, regulators, and community stakeholders.

The role involves preparing legal and grant-related documents, presenting to the Board, and tracking project timelines and compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in related field.
5+ years progressively responsible experience in affordable housing, neighborhood improvement, community planning, public administration, redevelopment or community development.
Prior affordable housing, real estate, project management, and grant-related experience highly desired.
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Works with prospective affordable housing developers to expedite development proposals and facilitate the affordable housing development process, including planning, permitting, construction, and monitoring stages.
Prepares and conducts planning and feasibility studies for designation as affordable housing.
Coordinates the County’s efforts to improve the housing stock and increase the supply of affordable housing including collaboration on real estate acquisitions.
Collects data, tracks and analyzes housing trends, and identifies actionable insights.
Creates reports, maps, presentations, and agenda items.
Attends public meetings and participates in scoping/pre-application meetings and Board meetings.
