Job summary

Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County (HOC) seeks a senior-level Housing Acquisition Manager to lead development activities and central planning for mixed‑income projects in Montgomery County. The role requires deep knowledge of real estate development, financing, and local/state/federal regulations affecting affordable housing programs.

The position reports to the Vice President of Real Estate.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in real estate development, finance, land planning or related field.
• Experience in multifamily housing (rental and for-sale) and decision-making involving professionals is desirable.
• Proficient in financial analysis, creating models, and conducting market research.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed market analysis and financial underwriting to assess feasibility of development projects.
• Develop project schedule, development budget, and track costs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage development of new and renovation projects from inception to construction completion.
• Direct programs using MPDUs and negotiate land purchases and agreements.
• Coordinate with Legal, Design Engineering, Construction, Economic Development, and Public Policy teams to align strategy.
