Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Tooling Engineer - Energetics Manufacturing (Level 2 or 3) for our Elkton, Maryland facility. The role focuses on engineering and designing production tooling components for energetic propulsion systems and coordinating fabrication with internal teams and vendors.

The position requires a Mechanical Engineering degree with relevant experience, the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; level 2 requires 2 years of design experience, level 3 requires 5 years.
• Ability to acquire Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate tooling requirements with project engineering, process engineering, manufacturing, quality, etc.
• Coordinate tooling fabrication with machine shop and/or vendors, including establishing scope and monitoring projects against planned scope.
• Responsible for tool use, checkout, and follow up in production.
• Prepare estimates of tooling design and fabrication costs for proposals.
• Identify opportunities for improvements to existing designs.
