Job summary

GE Aerospace in Clearwater is seeking a Senior Solder Technician to perform precision soldering, de-soldering, rework, and wire harness work on aviation hardware. You will interpret schematics, inspect solder joints, and ensure IPC standards.

The role requires 1–4 years of hands-on soldering experience and the ability to obtain J-STD-001/Class 3 and IPC-610/Class 3 certifications within 30 days of hire. This position is at our Clearwater location in a climate-controlled environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1–4 years of hands-on soldering experience in electronics manufacturing.
• Experience with wire harness assembly and cable routing.
• Ability to obtain J-STD-001 Class 3 and IPC-610 Class 3 certification within 30 days of hire.
• Experience performing electronic rework, de-soldering, and component repair.
• Ability to read and follow technical work instructions, schematics, and safety documentation.
• Ability to lift/move materials up to 35 lbs and work with manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision soldering and de-soldering on electronic components and circuit card assemblies.
• Conduct rework and repair of electronic assemblies in accordance with IPC standards and engineering specifications.
• Assemble and route wire harnesses and cable assemblies to detailed customer requirements.
• Interpret schematics, technical drawings, and work instructions to complete complex electronics work.
• Perform inspection of solder joints and electronic components using microscopes.
• Conduct component removal and replacement on through-hole and surface mount devices.
• Maintain compliance with quality standards and perform self-verification of work quality.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of soldering equipment and work areas.
