Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Assembler to join our team in Clearwater, Florida, focusing on precision SMT soldering for aerospace assemblies.

This role requires at least 5 years of soldering in manufacturing; you’ll use AOI, X-ray inspection, and rework equipment, following detailed work instructions. IPC-A-610 and IPC J-STD-001 certifications are required. Pay is $20.00–$25.00 per hour with overtime possible.

Qualifications

• 5+ years soldering experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with surface mount components and SMT processes.
• Experience using rework equipment.
• Detailing soldering, inspection, and rework under a microscope.
• Experience identifying and repairing solder defects.
• Familiarity with AOI equipment.
• Experience reviewing assemblies using X-ray inspection.
• Ability to read instructions and identify standard SMT components.
• Ability to sit for extended periods in a production environment.
• IPC-A-610 certification, active or expired.
• IPC J-STD-001 certification, active or expired.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision soldering and rework on SMT components.
• Use a microscope to verify placement and orientation.
• Align components before soldering and perform post-reflow inspections.
• Identify and correct soldering defects including shorts, voids, and tombstoning.
• Use AOI equipment to identify defects.
• Read and follow detailed work instructions.
• Operate rework equipment such as ERSA or similar systems.
• Review circuit boards under X-ray inspection.
• Maintain quality in repetitive, precision-focused tasks.
• Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with possible overtime.
