Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking an Electronics Assembler III in Islip, NY. You will disassemble, reassemble, test, and troubleshoot complex power conversion and control products, ensuring high quality and safety standards. Soldering, schematics, and hands-on craftsmanship are essential to delivering aviation‑grade electronics.

You will mentor teammates, interpret drawings, and drive improvements while working with a cross‑functional team in a facilities environment dedicated to precision manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Hands-on soldering experience.
• Certifications: IPC‑A‑610, J‑STD‑001, IPC‑7711 (or ability to obtain).
• Experience: 3–5 years in electronics assembly and testing in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency using hand tools, gauges, schematics, and electronic test equipment.
• Strong dexterity, hand‑eye coordination, and basic computer skills.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision soldering and rework on PCBs and electronic sub-assemblies to IPC standards.
• Disassemble and reassemble chassis, sub-assemblies, and components with minimal instruction while maintaining high quality.
• Set up and operate test equipment (voltmeters, oscilloscopes, Hi-Pot testers); interpret schematics to isolate faults.
• Mentor and cross-train teammates in assembly, soldering best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications; recommend process and quality improvements.
• Maintain organized workstations, calibration of tools, and strict adherence to safety procedures and SQDC.
