Job summary

GE Aerospace in Idaho is seeking a Senior Solder Technician to perform precision electronics assembly, soldering, de-soldering, repair and wire harness work on aviation hardware in a hands-on role. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be 18+ by start date; able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • 1–4 years hands-on soldering experience in electronics manufacturing.
  • Experience with wire harness assembly and cable routing.
  • Ability to obtain J-STD-001 Class 3 and IPC-610 Class 3 certifications within 30 days of hire.
  • Experience performing electronic rework, de-soldering, and component repair.

Responsibilities

  • Perform precision soldering and de-soldering on electronic components and circuit card assemblies.
  • Conduct rework and repair of electronic assemblies per IPC standards and engineering specs.
  • Assemble and route wire harnesses and cable assemblies per detailed customer requirements.
  • Interpret schematics, drawings, and work instructions to complete complex electronics work.
  • Inspect solder joints and components using microscopes.
  • Remove and replace components on through-hole and surface-mount devices.
  • Maintain compliance with quality standards and self-verify work quality.
  • Keep soldering equipment and work areas clean and organized.
