Job summary

GE Aerospace in Islip, Long Island is seeking an Electronics Assembler III who disassemble, reassemble, test, and troubleshoot power conversion and control products to IPC standards. You will mentor teammates and interpret schematics to ensure quality, safety, and timely delivery in a demanding manufacturing environment.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of electronics assembly experience, hands-on soldering skills, and IPC‑A‑610, J‑STD‑001, and IPC‑7711 certifications (or ability to obtain).

Qualifications

• Hands-on soldering experience
• Certifications: IPC‑A‑610, J‑STD‑001, IPC‑7711 (or ability to obtain)
• 3–5 years of electronics assembly and testing in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with hand tools, gauges, schematics, and electronic test equipment
• Strong dexterity and hand‑eye coordination
• High School Diploma or GED
• Role may include high-risk tasks and shifts; must be 18+ at joining

Responsibilities

• Perform precision soldering and rework on PCBs and sub‑assemblies to IPC standards.
• Disassemble and reassemble chassis and components with minimal instruction.
• Set up and operate test equipment and interpret schematics to locate faults.
• Mentor and cross-train teammates in assembly and troubleshooting.
• Interpret engineering drawings and suggest process and quality improvements.
• Maintain organized workstations and adhere to safety procedures (SQDC).
