Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, develop, and maintain software for aerospace systems. You will collaborate with engineers to define requirements, mentor junior staff, and build intuitive user interfaces for operators. The role covers data processing, visualization, and simulation, across the full lifecycle in an agile setting.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in software development, strong skills in Python/Java/C++, and experience in Linux environments. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or C++.
• Experience with front-end and/or back-end application development.
• Experience with Linux-based development environments.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and OO design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of software applications for aerospace systems.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, mission designers, and other stakeholders to define software requirements and architecture.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the team.
• Develop user interfaces that are intuitive, efficient, and meet the needs of our operators.
• Create and maintain software for data processing, analysis, and visualization.
• Develop and maintain simulation software for testing and verification of aerospace systems.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software on schedule.
