Job summary

Vantor is seeking a Principal Aerospace Modeling & Simulation Engineer to lead advanced ISR studies for government and commercial customers in Herndon, VA. You will translate mission needs into executable technical strategies, oversee model quality, and drive standardization across programs.

This role requires US citizenship, TS/SCI clearance, a related Bachelor's degree, 15 years of experience, and willingness to work on-site. You will mentor teams and shape the future of M&S capabilities.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required with an active TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science.
• 15 years of relevant experience.
• Willing to work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical vision, modeling strategy, and execution approach for M&S programs.
• Partner with customers and program leadership to clarify mission needs and translate requirements into work plans.
• Maintain technical quality across the M&S team, including models, scenarios, methods, results, and conclusions.
• Establish and enforce common modeling approaches, review standards, verification and validation practices, and docs.
• Standardize simulation workflows and promote reusable models, data products, tools, and components.
• Improve team efficiency via automation, better tool integration, and HPC/cloud resources.
• Guide technical work allocation and prioritization based on needs and risks.
• Identify risks, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
• Mentor analysts through coaching, reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Develop roadmaps for future M&S tools, infrastructure, data, and workforce capabilities.
• Represent the M&S org in customer engagements, reviews, proposals, and strategic planning.
