Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Lead Hardware Engineer to drive development and delivery of complex aerospace hardware systems from Phoenix, AZ. The role involves leading cross-functional hardware teams, owning hardware design, verification, and supplier interfaces in a hybrid work setting.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in hardware design, strong leadership, and deep knowledge of DO-160/DO-254, with experience in verification and requirements management using DOORS.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Electrical/Electronics/Aerospace Engineering or related fields.
• 10+ years of experience in hardware design and development.
• Strong knowledge of hardware design principles and methodologies.
• Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools.
• Experience with hardware Validation and Verification.
• Familiar with DO-160 and DO-254; understanding of industry standards.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware teams (board design, mechanical, FPGA, Safety) in product hardware development.
• Develop project plans and support schedule development.
• Use DOORS to create and trace hardware requirements and validation traces.
• Lead hardware verification tests.
• Manage customer interactions and ensure on-time delivery within scope and budget.
• Interface with Honeywell Aerospace production to fabricate hardware.
• Mentor team members and drive engineering excellence.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
