Job summary

Intuitive Machines - West is seeking a Senior Cost Estimating Analyst to lead cost estimating across commercial and government spacecraft programs. The role may be based in Palo Alto, CA, or performed remotely within the U.S.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen or permanent resident (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, Mathematics, or related field; 4 years of experience may substitute.
• Minimum 5 years of cost estimating experience in aerospace/defense/related tech.
• Experience with multiple cost estimating methodologies: parametric, analogy-based, and build-up.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost estimating for spacecraft systems, subsystems, and components across programs.
• Analyze RFPs, SOWs, TRDs and other documentation to develop accurate estimates.
• Collaborate with program management, engineering, finance, and contracts to align technical solutions with estimates.
• Create engineering build-up estimates with labor, materials, and direct costs.
• Produce submission-ready cost documentation: BOEs, BOMs, WBS, and cost volumes.
• Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS, and other government rules when applicable.
• Develop parametric estimates and CERs using industry tools.
• Develop learning curves and production rate impacts for recurring production.
• Present estimates and methodologies to senior leadership.
• Improve estimating processes and tools used by the team.
• Support government audit reviews when required.
