Job summary

Xometry is seeking a fully remote Senior Technical Lead to guide engineering and sourcing teams in cost estimation, quoting, and manufacturability assessments. You will act as the primary technical expert for complex parts, review CAD models, and drive decisions on processes, materials, and post-processing.

• Ability to review 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for manufacturability.
• Strong communication to lead technical discussions with customers and partners.
• Mentor junior engineers and share manufacturing knowledge.
• Ability to stay effective under pressure with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to engineers involved in sourcing, cost estimation, and quoting.
• Act as the primary technical expert for complex projects and critical commercial opportunities.
• Review CAD models and drawings to assess manufacturing complexity and requirements.
• Guide selection of processes, materials, and post-processing methods.
• Review and validate technical content of quotations, including assumptions and cost calculations.
• Lead technical discussions with customers and partners to clarify requirements and achieve feasible solutions.
• Oversee tagging and categorization of parts by process, material, and complexity.
• Support the team in prioritizing complex requests and resolving escalations.
• Mentor engineers and share manufacturing knowledge to improve assessments.
• Improve technical review practices and cross-team collaboration.
