Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Staff Aeronautical Engineer to be the technical authority for integration and verification on-site at Edwards AFB, CA. You will champion test readiness, fuse HW/SW interfaces, and deliver data shaping design and program decisions.

Key responsibilities include system analyses across lifecycle, translating requirements into hardware/software specs, and ensuring cost/schedule constraints are met. Occasional travel and odd shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline and 12 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master’s degree and 10 years, OR a Ph.D. and 8 years.
• Must have an active US Government Top Secret clearance with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable time.
• Ability to transfer and maintain final adjudicated Top Secret clearance and program access as required.
• Experience with test, test equipment use and troubleshooting.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Experience in software/system integration and testing.
• Experience creating, updating and executing test procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
• Analyses are performed at all levels from concept to disposal.
• Converts customer or product requirements into total system solutions considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Performs functional/timeline analyses, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition to translate requirements into hardware and software specs.
• Works full-time, on-site at Edwards AFB facility; no remote work.
• Travel up to 25% may be required.
• Available for odd shifts including nights and weekends.
