Job summary

Actalent in Newton, NC is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians, drive capex, process standardization, and program launches across the plant. You will drive capital expenditures, align with divisional targets, and push continuous improvement initiatives.

You will partner with Supply Chain, Maintenance and Commercial teams to optimize SIOP/MPS, manage budgets, and deliver robust manufacturing solutions with a strong focus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related field.
• 8+ years in a Manufacturing Engineering leadership role, automotive preferred.
• Proven experience in process development, industrialization, and CI.
• Capex planning, tracking, and project management experience.
• Strong automotive launch support and manufacturing knowledge.
• Hands-on with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and control plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level daily leadership to a team of engineers and technicians.
• Benchmark processes and standardize best practices across sites.
• Lead capex requirements and manage plant budgets and variances.
• Plan, track, and report capex spending to stakeholders.
• Work with Purchasing to meet specifications and safety standards.
• Ensure systems for manufacturing engineering are current and compliant.
• Drive continuous improvement and CIMS projects for productivity.
• Support NBA with cost per part, investments, and tooling needs.
• Establish SOPs and cycle times; ensure launch readiness.
• Deliver MS deliverables at SOP and maintain PFMEAs and drawings.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain for SIOP and MPS capacity management.
• Lead facilities maintenance and industrial solutions implementation.
• Foster an inclusive, high-performance engineering team.
