Job summary

American Axle & Manufacturing seeks an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers and technicians in Newton, NC. The role manages capex requirements, budgets, and project timing, ensuring equipment meets specifications and safety standards.

The position drives BPE initiatives, liaises with Supply Chain, and aligns site capabilities with divisional plans while advancing process improvements and standardization across key manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of manufacturing engineering leadership experience, preferably in automotive.
• Experience with capex planning and tracking.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and control plans.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Provide first level day-to-day administrative and technical leadership for engineers and technicians.
• Lead capex planning, budgeting, and project tracking for Newton site.
• Ensure equipment compliance with divisional specs and safety standards.
• Drive Business Process Excellence projects; improve systems and processes.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain and Commercial functions to support capacity management.
