Job summary

Coastal Horizons in Wilmington, NC seeks an Adult Behavioral Health Crisis Services Coordinator. This full-time role manages crisis intervention, trains staff, and de-escalates where needed.

The position acts as the central coordinator for adults moving through Outpatient Services and Behavioral Health Urgent Care, coordinating referrals, intake, allocation, evaluation, stabilization, and disposition. The Coordinator maintains real-time patient-flow data, supports communication among clinicians,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in human services with two years of behavioral health assessment and treatment.
• Full or Associate licensure as Psychological Associate, LMHC, or LCSW; dual licensure in Clinical Addictions Specialist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a real-time patient-flow system reflecting referrals, arrivals, waiting, and disposition.
• Coordinate handoffs to Outpatient or BHUC teams and ensure connections with appropriate staff.
• Monitor wait times and capacity across programs and escalate bottlenecks as needed.
• Facilitate communication among individuals served, families, outpatient providers, hospitals, EMS, law enforcement, and community partners.
• Support intake assessment to ensure timely access to care while not replacing clinical decision-making.
