Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Level 6 in Commerce, CA, to lead additive manufacturing initiatives and manage the manufacturing technical baseline. You will own process development, GD&T, tooling, inspection plans, and risk reduction on aerospace hardware.

This senior role requires extensive experience in multi-axis machining, CAD/CAM, and cross-functional collaboration with design and product teams. You will mentor teammates while ensuring readiness for production.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical/manufacturing/aerospace engineering or related STEM.
14+ years of manufacturing or process development leadership; 12 years with a Master's; 10 years with a PhD.
Advanced GD&T knowledge for machining, assembly, and inspection.
Experience with DFM/DFA, tooling, fixtures, and process qualification.

Responsibilities

Own the integrated additive manufacturing baseline and related downstream processes.
Translate product requirements into manufacturable processes and controls.
Lead DFM/DFA assessments and drive design-for-manufacturing improvements.
Define CAD/CAM strategies, multi-axis machining, and tooling/fixtures.
Develop inspection plans, measurement strategies, and process controls.
Provide manufacturing readiness assessments and mentor team members.
