Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Palmdale, CA is seeking a Manager Manufacturing Engineer 2 to translate product design into detailed assembly instructions and BOM compliance. You will guide Design Engineering reviews and drive manufacturability improvements across the production floor, leading a diverse team on complex issues.

The role requires a Bachelor’s (or Master’s) in engineering with several years of production experience, strong leadership, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 5 years in production assembly/fabrication incl. composites, metallics.
• Master’s Degree in Engineering with 3 years in production assembly/fabrication incl. composites.
• Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain Special Program Access.

Responsibilities

• Create/modify assembly/manufacturing instructions for build sequences with specs and BOM.
• Provide guidance to Design Engineering on drawings to resolve manufacturability challenges.
• Ensure processes comply with regulations and support the production floor as liaison.
• Investigate root causes and drive corrective actions to maintain quality.
• Develop tooling/fixtures to support operations and serve as manufacturing aids.
• Lead and collaborate with a diverse team to deliver practical, innovative solutions.
