Job summary

General Motors LLC in Milford, CT is seeking a Senior Systems Capability Engineer to lead development and integration of automated driving technologies at the intersection of hardware, software, and the driver. The role emphasizes end-to-end capability ownership, simulation and vehicle testing, and rapid problem solving for a safer driving experience.

The position requires onsite presence three days per week with flexibility across GM sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, Computer Science or work equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of engineering experience working with complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Minimum of 5 years of technical/engineering experience.
• Understanding of active safety systems, vehicle performance and automated driving technology.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities while meeting deliverables.
• Ability to identify problems, analyze varying courses of action, negotiate efficient solutions, and implement contingency plans.
• Strong technical and non-technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-functional development teams with software, system engineering, product management and hardware partners.
• Analyze and negotiate requirements with stakeholders throughout development and integration.
• Focus on feature performance and lead technical solutions.
• Hands-on end-to-end capability owner testing and integrating system and feature level capabilities.
• Triage and analyze test data from simulation and vehicle testing to guide priorities.
• Develop validation test plans linked to feature requirements.
• Communicate issues effectively and balance workload.
