Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. is seeking a highly analytical actuary to support pricing, modeling, and portfolio management of our Credit Insurance programs.

You will develop actuarial models, analyze portfolio performance, and partner with underwriting, finance, claims, and business leaders to drive profitable growth. The ideal candidate has ACAS or FCAS or substantial progress toward credentialing, 5+ years of actuarial experience, and strong skills in SAS, SQL, R, or Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field.
• ACAS or FCAS designation or progress toward credentialing.
• 5+ years of actuarial, pricing, or predictive modeling experience.
• Experience with statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and machine learning concepts.
• Strong data exploration and manipulation skills, ideally in SAS, SQL, R, or Python.
• Proficiency with Power BI is preferred.
• Experience with Credit Insurance is preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain pricing models for credit insurance and related products.
• Analyze claim frequency, severity, loss ratios, and profitability trends.
• Perform rate adequacy studies and recommend pricing actions.
• Monitor portfolio performance and identify emerging trends and risks.
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning initiatives.
• Build, validate, and maintain predictive models using actuarial and statistical techniques.
• Utilize borrower, loan, collateral, and credit attributes to improve risk segmentation.
• Evaluate model performance and recommend enhancements.
• Document methodologies and ensure compliance with actuarial standards and model governance requirements.
