Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. seeks a driven actuary to guide the adoption of complex pricing models across multiple lines of business. This supervisory role focuses on people leadership, model governance, and collaboration with underwriting management, data scientists, and other actuarial teams.

You will propose experiments, recommend loss adjustments, and influence management decisions on predictive model usage. Strong communication and mentoring are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field.
• ACAS or FCAS designation in good standing.
• Strong data exploration and manipulation skills (SQL, R, Python).
• Experience with predictive models for pricing and model evaluation.
• Experience supervising or mentoring team members.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with underwriting, data science, and actuarial teams to build pricing models.
• Ensure appropriate data adjustments and assumptions during model development.
• Challenge models and communicate strengths/ weaknesses to stakeholders.
• Validate models for intended use and establish usage guardrails.
• Drive model rollout, monitoring, and address potential misuse.
• Support model filings and regulatory documentation.
• Guide junior staff and develop team skills and processes.
• Maintain model governance documentation and changemanagement practices.
• Provide training and actuarial expertise to underwriters within the organization.
