Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services Inc. is seeking an analytically driven actuary to support pricing, modeling, and portfolio management of credit insurance programs. The role focuses on developing models, analyzing performance, and partnering with underwriting, finance, claims, and leadership to drive profitable growth.

The ideal candidate will have ACAS/FCAS or progress toward credentialing, 5+ years of actuarial experience, and strong modeling skills using SAS/SQL/R/Python with Power BI familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• ACAS or FCAS designation or substantial progress toward credentialing.
• 5+ years of actuarial, pricing, or predictive modeling experience.
• Experience with statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and machine learning concepts.
• Strong data exploration and manipulation skills, ideally in SAS, SQL, R, or Python.
• Proficiency with Power BI is preferred.
• Experience with Credit Insurance is preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Pricing & Profitability Analysis: Develop and maintain pricing models for credit insurance and related products.
• Pricing & Profitability Analysis: Analyze claim frequency, severity, loss ratios, and profitability trends.
• Pricing & Profitability Analysis: Perform rate adequacy studies and recommend pricing actions.
• Pricing & Profitability Analysis: Monitor portfolio performance and identify emerging trends and risks.
• Pricing & Profitability Analysis: Support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning initiatives.
• Predictive Modeling & Analytics: Build, validate, and maintain predictive models using actuarial and statistical techniques.
• Predictive Modeling & Analytics: Utilize borrower, loan, collateral, and credit attributes to improve risk segmentation.
• Predictive Modeling & Analytics: Evaluate model performance and recommend enhancements.
• Predictive Modeling & Analytics: Partner with data science and technology teams on model implementation and governance.
• Predictive Modeling & Analytics: Document methodologies and ensure compliance with actuarial standards and model governance requirements.
• Portfolio & Risk Management: Evaluate underwriting strategies and portfolio risk characteristics.
• Portfolio & Risk Management: Perform scenario testing and stress testing to assess potential changes in economic conditions and credit performance.
• Portfolio & Risk Management: Analyze impacts of shifts in credit quality, loan-to-value ratios, delinquency trends, and macroeconomic conditions.
• Portfolio & Risk Management: Support reserve adequacy reviews and business performance assessments.
