Job summary

Oliver James is partnering with a leading specialty insurer to appoint a Senior Actuarial Manager for its Workers’ Compensation book. This senior actuarial role concentrates on pricing, profitability monitoring and portfolio analytics to influence underwriting and business decisions.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will drive pricing analyses, monitor loss trends, partner with Underwriting and Claims, and mentor a growing actuarial team.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of P&C actuarial experience.
• Strong Workers’ Compensation pricing, reserving or portfolio experience.
• ACAS is required; FCAS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead actuarial analysis and strategy across the Workers’ Compensation portfolio.
• Develop pricing analyses, rate indications and profitability assessments.
• Monitor loss trends, claims development and underwriting performance.
• Partner with Claims to understand severity trends and portfolio drivers.
• Support forecasting, business planning and reinsurance strategy.
• Present recommendations and insights to senior/executive stakeholders.
• Manage and develop actuarial talent.
