Acturhire seeks a Director - Actuarial in the United States for a senior leadership role focused on healthcare analytics and strategic advisory for employers, insurers, and providers. The role blends actuarial analysis with client leadership, pricing, forecasting, and risk management in a fully remote setup.

You will mentor actuarial professionals, shape practice capabilities, and lead complex engagements with executive stakeholders across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, data science, economics, or a related field.
• FSA strongly preferred; ASA candidates with significant senior-level experience may also be considered.
• 12+ years of healthcare actuarial experience across commercial healthcare, stop-loss, health and welfare consulting, pricing, reserving, and related areas.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, SAS, VBA, R, Python, or similar analytical technologies.
• Strong analytical and leadership capabilities with ability to advise senior stakeholders.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills for non-technical audiences.
• Experience leading projects, managing client relationships, and driving initiatives through completion.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex actuarial engagements and provide strategic guidance to clients and internal teams.
• Translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations for executive decisions.
• Oversee development and delivery of accurate, timely client deliverables.
• Direct design, execution, and peer review of advanced actuarial analyses with high professional standards.
• Develop assumptions, methodologies, and models for pricing, reserving, forecasting, and program evaluation.
• Lead creation of scalable actuarial models and innovative analytical tools.
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level actuarial professionals.
• Partner with leadership on practice development and strategic initiatives.
• Foster collaboration across actuarial, consulting, analytics, and cross-functional teams.
• Monitor healthcare trends and assess potential impact on engagements.
• Lead actuarial components of product design, network optimization, and care management initiatives.
