Job summary

Security Benefit invites an experienced Senior Actuarial Assistant, ERM & Planning to help develop and validate financial projection models for ORSA and CISSA filings. You will lead modeling workstreams with limited oversight in a hybrid Topeka/Overland Park setting.

You’ll bring 3+ years of actuarial experience, strong Prophet skills, and exposure to asset-liability management, capital analysis, and risk projections. Join a team that values precision and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• 4 actuarial exams passed and actively pursuing ASA.
• 3+ years actuarial experience in financial modeling, projections, or related.
• Strong hands-on Prophet experience for modeling and analysis.
• Ability to manage modeling work with limited oversight and meet deadlines.
• Preferred: ORSA, CISSA, stress testing, capital planning, ERM.
• Preferred: Life insurance and annuity knowledge.
• Preferred: Asset-liability management, valuation, capital analysis.
• Preferred: Python, SQL, VBA or similar tools.
• Preferred: Multi-entity, reinsurance, offshore structures.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and validate projection models for ORSA, CISSA, capital planning, and enterprise risk management.
• Manage multi-year projection and stress-testing workstreams with limited oversight.
• Perform financial projections, stress testing, and capital adequacy analyses.
• Incorporate asset projections and reinvestment strategies into enterprise projections.
• Prepare model inputs, assumptions, and outputs; assess market/interest rate risks.
• Test Prophet model changes and document findings; support issue resolution.
• Produce outputs for ORSA filings and report to Senior ERM Analyst.
• Coordinate with Finance, Investments, Legal to align inputs and assumptions.
• Improve modeling efficiency through automation and documentation.
• Provide technical support and peer review to teammates.
