Zurich North America is seeking an Actuarial Analyst or Senior Actuarial Analyst to join the Reserving team focusing on Primary General Liability. Base locations include Chicago or Schaumburg, IL, with options for NYC or Toronto offices. Hybrid work model.

The role involves quarterly reserve analyses, IFRS 17 work, collaboration with underwriting and finance, and responsibilities scale with the chosen level. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associates Degree OR a BA/BS with 3.0+ GPA and no actuarial experience required.
• Successful completion of actuarial exams (Analyst: 1+ exam; Senior FCAS path 5+ exams or 3+ with 3+ years) and relevant experience.
• Willingness to collaborate with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and Pricing to derive insights.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quarterly premium and loss reserve analyses and IFRS 17 components.
• Assist in preparing materials for quarterly reserve governance committee.
• Ensure loss reserves and IFRS 17 components are reflected in the financial close.
• Perform loss ratio planning and forecasting including IFRS 17 elements.
• Collaborate with Pricing on forward-looking loss ratios and trends.
• Communicate reserve recommendations and financial impact to leadership across teams.
