Job summary

Zurich North America in Schaumburg, IL is seeking an Actuarial Analyst or Senior Actuarial Analyst to join the Property Reserving team with a focus on Crop and Surety.

You will conduct quarterly premium and loss reserve analyses, assist reserve governance materials, ensure reserves and IFRS 17 components are reflected in the close, and collaborate with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and Pricing on trends and insights.

Qualifications

• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice or Associate Degree with 2+ years technical/insurance experience, or Bachelor's with GPA and no actuarial experience and actuarial exam completion
• Senior: 5+ actuarial exams (FCAS or equivalent) with 2+ years actuarial experience or 3+ exams with 3+ years actuarial experience

Responsibilities

• Conduct quarterly premium & loss reserve analyses to support quarterly financial results including IFRS 17 components of discount and risk adjustment
• Assist in preparing materials for quarterly reserve governance committee
• Ensure loss reserves and IFRS 17 components are reflected in the financial close
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and Pricing to develop insights on trends and issues
• Engage with Pricing on forward-looking loss ratios
• Communicate reserve recommendations with financial impacts to management
