Job summary

Great Lakes Management is seeking an Assistant to the Director of Resident Services to plan and lead activity programs for residents with diverse social, physical, mental, emotional, and sensory needs.

Responsibilities include assisting with promoting events, developing an activity calendar, leading group activities, coordinating transportation, and overseeing volunteers. Strong organizational and English-language skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year activities experience in independent retirement, assisted living, adult day services or long-term care facility serving a senior population.
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
• Class C license required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Basic computer skills: Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Creativity in developing and planning activity programs.
• Group leadership and interpersonal skills to lead one on one, small, and large group activities.
• Ability to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Assist Activity Coordinator with planning, promotion, and facilitating/leading each event or program.
• Assess resident’s recreational and social needs.
• Support development of monthly Activity Calendar of Events.
• Lead small, large and one on one activity programs with seniors.
• Research and recommend speakers/church representatives for events.
• Coordinate transportation needs to outside events/programs and accompany residents on field trips as assigned.
• Work cooperatively with volunteers and direct their assignments to support resident programming. Maintain the STSW bus interior and exterior.
• Report maintenance needs in timely manner.
