Job summary

Great Lakes Management Company seeks an Activities Director to oversee social, physical, mental, and emotional programs for residents. You will plan monthly calendars across campuses, supervise staff and volunteers, and collaborate with nursing to mentor memory care staff.

The role also involves coordinating transportation, coordinating with vendors, and publishing an engaging monthly newsletter. You will develop a varied calendar of programs, supervise event execution, and drive volunteer

Qualifications

BA in Gerontology, Human Services, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field; or 2+ years in senior programs.
Minimum 2 years activities experience in retirement, assisted living, or long-term care.
Ability to use basic Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) programs.
Must possess or obtain Class C Driver's License to drive site bus.

Responsibilities

Plan, promote, budget, and lead activity events and programs.
Develop monthly activity calendar for IL, AL, MC, and CS residents.
Supervise activities staff or volunteers and ensure quality delivery.
Coordinate with Nursing Director to mentor Resident Assistants in Memory Care.
Manage Theater use, including movies and educational events.
Promote volunteer opportunities and maintain volunteer files.
Collaborate with Resident Council to advertise and evaluate resident activities.
Coordinate transportation to outside events and accompany residents on trips.
