Job summary

Good Samaritan in Saint Paul, MN, is seeking a Part-time Activities Assistant to enhance residents' quality of life through individualized and group activities. You will help administer the monthly activity calendar and engage residents in music, crafts, and spiritual programs, under close supervision.

The role requires strong communication, creativity, and the ability to work with diverse resident needs. BLS may be required; a CNA is preferred or you may be enrolled in a healthcare program.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Experience in social services or creative activities are preferred
• Experience in geriatrics preferred
• CNA certification preferred or currently enrolled in healthcare program
• BLS required; CPR training within six months of hire
• Valid driver's license may be required per location and Sanford Driving Policy

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful activities and interventions one-on-one or in groups
• Administer the monthly activity calendar and solicit resident input
• Support residents in music, crafts and spiritual activities as required by state rules
• Assist with simple nursing procedures and transportation of residents
• Document MDS entries and maintain organized, upbeat activities program
• Demonstrate leadership to develop and motivate team and residents
