Job summary

Kennebunk Savings Bank is seeking an ACH Payment Operations Specialist to manage end-to-end ACH processing, NACHA compliance, and risk management. The role collaborates with Cash Management, Compliance, Deposit Services and Technology teams to ensure secure, accurate operations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in ACH/payments, and a college degree or equivalent experience. Expect ongoing training, system upgrades, and process improvements in a fast-paced banking environment.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of NACHA Operating Rules, electronic payments, and banking regulations.
• Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Continuing certifications of Accredited Payments Risk Professionals (APR P); Accredited Faster Payments Professionals (AFPP)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
• Displays strong written and verbal communication skills
• Displays strong organization skills and the ability to multi-task to meet established deadlines
• Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to adapt to change

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accurate and timely processing of all ACH transactions and related payment activities.
• Review and approve complex ACH files, large-dollar transactions and exception items.
• Monitor processing deadlines, settlement schedules, and operational controls to ensure service-level performance.
• Serve as the operational expert for ACH products, processes, and regulatory requirements.
• Resolve escalated customer and internal partner inquiries related to ACH processing and payment exceptions.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
• Train internal departments and serve as a resource for complex operational issues.
• Participate in system upgrades, testing, and implementation of ACH products and services
• Collaborate with business units and technology teams on new product implementations and payment initiatives.
