Job summary

Hub Group in Oak Brook, IL seeks a Senior Account Management Specialist to serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned customer accounts, coordinating with internal teams to meet customer needs and resolve issues.

You will monitor order acceptance and maintenance, offer cost-efficient transportation solutions, train junior staff, and strive to maximize on-time performance and profitability for the accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or management preferred.
• Experience in the transportation industry preferred.
• Experience with EDI processes, Web Tender Portals, fax and other electronic communication preferred.
• 1–3 years as an Account Management Specialist required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Attention to detail and customer-focused.
• Ability to work weekend rotation when scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Develop proactive relationships with assigned customer accounts and resolve issues.
• Determine which accessorial charges can be billed and reduce disputes.
• Monitor and report order acceptance, maintenance, and accessorial management.
• Offer alternative transportation solutions by analyzing metrics.
• Maximize profitability, margin, network efficiency and OTP.
• Communicate with shipper and consignee on exceptions and resolutions.
• Train and mentor Account Management Specialists within the group.
