Job summary

The Accounting V reports to the Accounts Payable Manager at the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. The role handles advanced accounting work for agency expenditures, audits vouchers, and coordinates payable workflows across ePay, CAPPS Financials, and USAS.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to communicate complex information with internal and external partners are essential. Telework is eligible with a standard day shift in Austin.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with accounting major.
• Experience in state government and accounts payable preferred.
• CAPPS Financials and USAS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research and respond to agency and vendor inquiries in a timely manner.
• Reconcile discrepancies to improve controls and processes.
• Develop and run queries for extraction of accounting reconciliations.
• Process IRS 1099s and coordinate system upgrades testing.
• Lead voucher reviews and ensure compliance with timelines.
