Job summary

Viking Electric is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist in Minneapolis, MN. You’ll manage stock invoice payments, verify PO lines, and drive accurate reconciliations across multiple vendors. The role emphasizes collaboration with Shared Services and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7+ years accounting or accounts payable experience with preferred three-way match experience.
• Two years advanced education or degree in accounting or general business, or equivalent experience.
• Strong accounting and computer skills - Excel, Word and 10-key abilities.
• Organized, able to work independently and meet deadlines, with good communication and ability to follow procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills and understanding of receiving process.
• Authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex stock invoice discrepancies to ensure timely and accurate payment of stock invoices.
• Split gens, match PO lines and approve invoices for payment; coordinate with Shared Services on vendor stock issues.
• Resolve open vendor items and discrepancies and process inventory purchases on company cards.
• Coach buyers to resolve PO cost issues on stock invoices and assist receiving associates at all locations.
• Handle vendor chargebacks and negotiate resolutions with vendors; gather information to support Viking’s position.
• Identify non-compliant processes and propose improvements to the responsible parties.
• Monitor PO variance for open invoices to maximize discounts per vendor terms; resolve small variances under $50.
