Job summary

Geron Corporation seeks a Senior Manager, Accounting in the United States to oversee the accounting function, ensure GAAP compliance, and support strategic decision-making. The role reports to the Senior Director, Finance and Assistant Controller and may require in-person meetings in Parsippany, NJ, with a Northeast location preference.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required; CPA a plus.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in finance or accounting.
• Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience highly preferred.
• Payroll experience highly preferred.
• Experience with NetSuite, FloQast, Coupa, ADP, Concur, and Equity Edge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with a defined calendar.
• Oversee daily accounting operations including payroll and cash/investment reporting.
• Review payroll processing and act as backup preparer when needed.
• Prepare journal entries for complex areas (clinical trial accruals, prepaids, intercompany).
• Ensure accurate general ledger entries in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee fixed assets, lease accounting, and quarterly schedules.
• Assist with monthly foreign subsidiary reporting and entry recording.
• Coordinate audit support and quarterly reviews; interact with auditors.
