Job summary

Cogent Analytics is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the finance team in maintaining GAAP-based financial reporting, controls, and operations in a high-volume environment.

You will oversee close processes, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and audits while driving improvements in budgeting, forecasting, and policy implementation. Strong Excel and ERP/QuickBooks experience are essential, with leadership and team collaboration as core requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA certification preferred but not mandatory.
• 7+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing or construction.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Advanced experience with QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow).
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, vendor payments, and customer collections.
• Oversee payroll processing and tax filings.
• Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation calculations.
• Establish and maintain internal controls; assist with audits.
