Job summary

Evlo AI is seeking an Accounting Manager who will own the monthly close, ensure GAAP integrity, and design SOX controls for a fast-moving technology company. You will partner with FP&A, revenue, and engineering to deliver audit-ready numbers and clear escalations to leadership.

The role requires hands-on accounting leadership, US GAAP, SOX, and SEC reporting experience, plus ERP proficiency (NetSuite, Workday, or SAP) and a CPA in progress.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years combined public accounting and industry experience.
• Experience in ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 842 lease accounting.
• CPA license (active or in progress) and strong Excel/data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, delivering accurate GAAP financial statements on a tight reporting calendar
• Manage complex accounting areas including revenue recognition (ASC 606), stock-based compensation, capitalized software, and accruals
• Design, document, and test SOX controls; coordinate remediation with process owners and internal audit
• Prepare and review technical accounting memos for non-routine transactions, including business combinations and lease accounting (ASC 842)
• Support quarterly SEC reporting deliverables, including footnotes, MD&A support, and disclosure checklists
• Lead external audit requests, managing PBC lists and resolving auditor inquiries efficiently
• Supervise and develop a team of 2-3 staff and senior accountants, reviewing reconciliations and journal entries in NetSuite

About The Role

The role owns the monthly close, general ledger integrity, and internal controls for a fast-moving technology business. This is a hands-on accounting leadership position grounded in US GAAP, SOX, and SEC reporting requirements — not a sit-and-report job.

The Accounting Manager partners with FP&A, revenue, and engineering finance teams to ensure accurate reporting, audit-ready controls, and clean escalations to the Corporate Controller. The work directly shapes the numbers leadership and auditors rely on.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, delivering accurate GAAP financial statements on a tight reporting calendar
• Manage complex accounting areas including revenue recognition (ASC 606), stock-based compensation, capitalized software, and accruals
• Design, document, and test SOX controls; coordinate remediation with process owners and internal audit

What We Are Looking For

• 5-8 years of combined public accounting and industry experience, including Big 4 or national firm audit background
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and SOX internal controls; SEC reporting exposure required
• Hands-on ERP experience (NetSuite, Workday, or SAP) with strong Excel and data analysis skills
• CPA license (active or in progress)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's in Accounting a plus
• Track record of improving close efficiency and leading audit cycles with minimal escalations
• Bonus: Experience with SaaS metrics (ARR, deferred revenue waterfalls), Equity Edge or Carta stock administration, and FloQast or similar close-management tooling
