Job summary

Cogent Analytics Inc. seeks a highly driven Staff Accountant with a Bachelor’s in Accounting and 5+ years of hands-on experience. This role will build our inventory processes from the ground up, evaluating, implementing, and managing a robust tracking system as we scale.

The ideal candidate will own all full-cycle accounting, ensure immaculate records, oversee GL, AP/AR, and job costing, and support payroll and reporting using QuickBooks, ADP, and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; construction/manufacturing background preferred.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, ADP, and Excel for bookkeeping and reporting.
• Ability to own full-cycle accounting as a sole accountant.
• Experience implementing and managing an inventory system from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Sole Accounting Ownership: manage all full-cycle accounting independently.
• Document Control & Compliance: maintain immaculate records and audit readiness.
• Inventory Implementation & Oversight: select, setup, and roll out inventory tracking system.
• General Ledger & Financial Operations: oversee GL, AP/AR, job costing, month-end close.
• Systems Utilization & Payroll Support: use QuickBooks, ADP, and Excel for bookkeeping and payroll tasks.
• Financial Integrity & Analysis: analyze data and present actionable solutions.
• Cross-Functional Team Support: assist other departments with financial/inventory needs.
• Organizational Advocacy: ensure accurate reporting and sound financial stewardship.
