Job summary

New Talent in Augusta, GA is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join as Corporate Controller with a strong #2 backing. You’ll gain exposure to CFO and leadership while helping to build scalable processes in a rapidly growing, AI-enabled company.

The role offers growth into accounting leadership with oversight across close, financial reporting, and project accounting. Hybrid work is available after onboarding, with a dynamic, private-equity-adjacent growth path.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Public Accounting (Audit or Tax) or progressive industry accounting
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Experience with month-end close and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills
• Comfortable learning new technologies, including AI tools
• CPA or one in progress is preferred BUT NOT a deal breaker

Responsibilities

• Lead key aspects of the month-end close process
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
• Manage Construction-in-Progress (CIP) and Fixed Asset accounting
• Account for leases, right-of-use assets, and intangible assets
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with financial statement footnotes and technical accounting
• Support external audits and annual tax reporting
• Partner with leadership on process improvements and special projects
• Leverage AI and automation tools to improve efficiency and reporting

• Job Title and Compensation are strictly Based On Experience (Sr., Mgr., or Asst. Controller)

The Corporate Controller needs a solid #2 to help offload the financial accounting duties

• There is a team of staff handling all of the low-level work (AP, AR, Recs, etc.)

What You'll Be Doing
