Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Comfortable learning new technologies, including AI tools.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• CPA or in progress is preferred but not a deal breaker.

Responsibilities

• Lead key aspects of the month-end close process.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Manage Construction-in-Progress (CIP) and Fixed Asset accounting.
• Account for leases, right-of-use assets, and intangible assets.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with financial statement footnotes and technical accounting.
• Support external audits and annual tax reporting.
• Partner with leadership on process improvements and special projects.
• Leverage AI and automation tools to improve efficiency and reporting.

• Job Title and Compensation are strictly Based On Experience (Sr., Mgr., or Asst. Controller)

The Corporate Controller needs a solid #2 to help offload the financial accounting duties

• There is a team of staff handling all of the low-level work (AP, AR, Recs, etc.)

Position is located in the Augusta, GA area - MUST LIVE IN OR RELOCATE to the greater area

What You'll Be Doing

What We Are Looking For

• Public Accounting (Audit or Tax) or progressive industry accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Experience with month‑end close and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills
• Comfortable learning new technologies, including AI tools
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
• CPA or one in progress is preferred BUT NOT a deal breaker
