Job summary

RTX Corporation, a leader in aerospace and defense, seeks a Principal Specialist in Accounting & Controllership for a hybrid role. Responsibilities include general accounting, A/P, close activities, and cross-functional collaboration to strengthen internal controls.

Qualifications include a bachelor's in Accounting/Finance with 5+ years of experience (or advanced degree with 3+ years), and proficiency in SAP/Blackline and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree and minimum 3 years experience.
• Experience in SAP/Blackline and Microsoft Excel is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly general accounting activities including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and documentation.
• Support A/P accounting reconciliations, accruals, and exception resolution.
• Assist with close activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with schedules.
• Analyze general ledger balances and identify opportunities to improve accuracy and streamline processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (A/P, Procurement, Cash Accounting, FP&A) to resolve issues and support improvements.
• Maintain SOX 404 compliance and support testing, remediation, and monitoring.
• Prepare and support internal/external audit requests with schedules and explanations.
• Assist with special accounting projects focused on standardization, automation, and enhancements.
• Provide insights through monthly flux analysis and SJEs; support ad hoc analyses and journal entry requests.
