Responsibilities

• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with journals, reconciliations, and GL maintenance.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and schedules for accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee cash reconciliations, expense allocations, accruals, prepaid expenses, and other accounting activities.
• Analyze financial data and investigate variances to provide insights to management.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning as needed.
• Assist with accounting for investment-related transactions and advisory revenue.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join a growing wealth management and financial services organization. This individual will play a key role in overseeing accounting operations, supporting month-end and year-end close, preparing financial statements, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and experience working in financial services, investment management, wealth management, or a related industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Oversee cash reconciliations, expense allocations, accruals, prepaid expenses, and other general accounting activities.
• Analyze financial data and investigate variances, providing meaningful insights to management.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities as needed.
• Assist with accounting for investment-related transactions, management fees, advisory revenue, and other financial services activities.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures to ensure the integrity of financial information.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and other third-party service providers during audits and reporting cycles.
• Assist with regulatory, tax, and compliance-related reporting requirements as applicable.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and increase operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, and investment teams to support business initiatives and reporting needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience within wealth management, financial services, investment management, asset management, or a related industry is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations.
• Experience with month-end close, financial statement preparation, and audit support.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP or accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across departments.
• CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
