Job description

We are partnering with a fast-growing organization seeking a detail‑oriented and driven Senior Accountant to join their expanding Accounting team. This role offers strong exposure to leadership and the opportunity to take ownership of key areas of the accounting function, including financial reporting, month‑end close, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong GAAP expertise, solid technical accounting fundamentals, and thrives in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. Candidates with a blend of public accounting and industry experience are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and support monthly close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Drive accurate and timely month‑end and year‑end close processes to ensure reliable financial reporting
• Perform detailed variance analysis across balance sheet and income statement accounts with strong GAAP application
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
• Reconcile key accounts including bank accounts, prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, and intercompany balances
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and broader financial planning initiatives
• Assist with external audit requests, including preparation of supporting documentation and schedules
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including operations, finance, and leadership
• Support ad hoc reporting requests and special projects as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and experience applying technical accounting concepts
• Prior public accounting experience strongly preferred (Big 4 or national firm a plus)
• Hands‑on experience with month‑end close and balance sheet reconciliations
• Strong financial reporting and technical accounting skills
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems
• CPA or CPA‑track strongly preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
