Job summary

Fairwater in Dania Beach, FL, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team. You will report to the Accounting Manager and manage month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations for assigned accounts and vessels.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Accounting or related field, 5 years private or 3 in public, experience with US GAAP and ERP systems (Workday a plus), and strong analytical and mentoring skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of private or three years of public accounting experience.
• Maritime industry experience is a plus.
• English language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close procedures for accounts/vessels.
• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations.
• Analyze financial results for accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with Operations on monthly trends and fluctuations.
• Maintain internal controls and audit evidence.
• Assist with financial statements and reporting packages.
• Support leases, drydock capitalization, and revenue recognition under US GAAP.
• Identify opportunities to automate close tasks.
• Provide guidance and training to junior staff.
• Complete special projects and ad hoc requests.
