Job summary

JBG SMITH is seeking a Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting to support the company’s US GAAP financial statements and SEC filings. You will work on quarterly and annual close processes, perform technical accounting research, and collaborate with leadership to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

This role offers exposure to comprehensive public-company reporting, including MD&A disclosures, with opportunities to influence process improvements and control documentation across multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 2–4 years at Big 4 or publicly traded company preferred.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist with SEC filings on 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K.
• Prepare analyses of cash flows, leases, consolidations, and EPS.
• Lead technical accounting research and memoranda.
• Support SOX control documentation and policy updates.
• Coordinate with internal/external auditors and cross-functional teams.
• Identify process improvements and leverage AI to automate tasks.
