Job summary

SB Energy is seeking a Technical Accounting Senior Analyst to reinforce our accounting policy, research complex issues, and deliver precise financial reporting under US GAAP and IFRS. You will partner with Financial Reporting, FP&A, Legal, and Tax to ensure compliant disclosures and strong internal controls.

The role supports Sarbanes-Oxley and J-SOX, reviews contracts with Legal and FP&A, and contributes to policy documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required (or active pursuit)
• 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong focus on technical accounting in a public company or SEC-regulated environment
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS reporting considerations
• Demonstrated experience researching, interpreting, and documenting complex accounting topics and non-routine transactions
• Familiarity with SOX requirements and internal controls related to complex accounting areas
• Experience preparing technical accounting memos, policy documentation, and audit support materials
• Ability to partner effectively with Financial Reporting, FP&A, Legal, Tax, Treasury, and external auditors
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and prioritization abilities
• Ability to work independently while collaborating in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret, and apply US GAAP and IFRS to support accurate accounting conclusions and financial reporting
• Prepare technical accounting memoranda for complex transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, equity-based compensation, business combinations, impairments, leases, debt modifications)
• Monitor and implement new accounting standards and assess business impact
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting with appropriate disclosures
• Maintain and update accounting policies and internal guidance
• Provide technical accounting support for significant contracts with Legal and FP&A
• Support SOX/J-SOX compliance including controls documentation
• Coordinate with external auditors on technical accounting topics and audit inquiries
• Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Investor Relations for disclosures
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and documentation
• Stay current on emerging accounting issues and regulator focus areas
