Buckingham Search is recruiting for a Senior Accountant for a Fortune 500 global hospitality company headquartered in downtown Chicago to join its Financial Reporting team.

This role supports SEC filings, consolidated financial statements, and internal management reporting, with a hybrid work schedule and a strong emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience; public accounting preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• SEC and US GAAP financial reporting experience preferred.
• Hyperion or similar ERP/reporting system experience a plus.
• Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities

• Prepare consolidated balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, and footnotes per US GAAP/SEC requirements.
• Support quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy) and standalone audit reports.
• Assist internal reporting, including monthly CFO package and related analysis.
• Prepare consolidating and intercompany eliminations and maintain the chart of accounts.
• Monitor, analyze, and review data loaded into Hyperion.
• Review financial information submitted by divisions for reporting accuracy.
• Review debt covenant calculations.
• Support quarterly earnings releases and related materials.
• Prepare standalone entity financial statements and footnotes.
• Review XBRL tagging to meet reporting requirements.
• Prepare support for external auditors and participate in projects and accounting research.
• Develop process improvements to increase consolidation and reporting efficiency.

What You'll Do:

• Prepare consolidated balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, and footnotes in accordance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
• Support the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statement, and standalone audit reports
• Assist with internal reporting activities including preparation of the monthly CFO reporting package and related analysis
• Prepare consolidating and intercompany elimination journal entries and assist in maintenance of the chart of accounts
• Monitor, analyze, and review data loaded into Hyperion
• Review financial and other information submitted by divisions for financial reporting accuracy
• Review debt covenant calculations
• Support the preparation and review of quarterly earnings releases and related materials
• Prepare standalone entity financial statements and footnotes
• Perform review of XBRL tagging to ensure reporting requirements are met
• Prepare support for external auditors and participate in special projects and accounting research as needed
• Develop process improvements and increase efficiencies in consolidation and reporting procedures

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3-5 years of accounting experience; at least 2 years of public accounting experience preferred
• CPA preferred
• SEC and US GAAP financial reporting experience preferred
• Hyperion or similar ERP/reporting system experience a plus
• Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a high emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
